About Us
Umayana Biotechnology is a biotechnology company developing innovative, effective, safe, accessible, and non-toxic preventive and therapeutic wound care solutions, with a particular focus on the prevention and treatment of hard-to-heal wounds.
Our primary areas of work include oral mucositis and radiodermatitis, conditions that frequently occur in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy. In parallel, Umayana continues formulation development programs aimed at the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers.
Murnia® is Umayana Biotechnology’s medical product brand dedicated to protecting and supporting the healing of skin and mucosal tissue.
Murnia® products are developed for use in challenging clinical settings, particularly in oncology supportive care, where a preventive approach, safety, and ease of use are critical. The Murnia® product portfolio is built on a platform approach based on a patented molecular compound, enabling multiple CE-certified applications while maintaining a clear clinical focus.

Leadership and Vision
Umayana Biotechnology was founded by Dr. Hülya Dağöttüren, a biochemist with extensive experience across biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and academic environments, including Abbott, Bayer, and Yeditepe University.
Dr. Dağöttüren is a member of the European Innovation Council (EIC) ecosystem, and Umayana’s scientific capability and innovation potential have been recognized at the European level through the Women Tech EU Award.
Under the leadership of its founder, Umayana aims to create long-term value through scientific rigor, regulatory compliance, and a responsible innovation approach.
