Umayana® was recognised for its success in international support programmes at Teknopark İstanbul's 9th Vecihi Hürkuş Technology Awards.
Umayana® Biotechnology received the Success in International Support Programmes award at the 9th Vecihi Hürkuş Technology Awards, held at Teknopark İstanbul on 14 August 2026.
Named after the pioneering Turkish aviator Vecihi Hürkuş, the awards recognise companies in the Teknopark İstanbul ecosystem that stand out over the year. This year 27 awards were presented across 17 categories, covering areas from young talent development and employment to intellectual property, women entrepreneurs and commercialisation.
The award was presented to founder Hülya Dağöttüren. It recognises Umayana®'s record in international support programmes, including the European Commission's Seal of Excellence, co-funding by the European Union, the EIC Women Leadership Programme and the United Nations Global Cleantech Innovation Programme (UN GCIP).
Umayana® continues its research and development at Teknopark İstanbul, where the patented Murnia® molecular platform was developed from laboratory research through to clinical application.
